20 H o m e w o o d M a g a z i n e 2 0 1 5 Fall BACK TO SCHOOL BASH This fun event kicks off the new school year with an array of rides, infl atables, food, a live DJ and entertainment throughout the afternoon and evening. There is no admission charge to enter Central Park for the event, but to ride and Samford Bulldogs offer football fans plenty of competitive entertainment on fall Friday nights and Saturdays. HOMEWOOD CHAMBER GOLF TOURNAMENT The annual Homewood Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic, held at Oxmoor Valley, a 54-hole Robert Trent Jones-designed facility, puts the fun in fundraiser. After a shotgun start, golf teams compete for bragging rights and prizes for fi rst-, second-, and third-place fi nishes. There is also a putting contest, a closest-to-the-hole contest, and a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Limbaugh Toyota. Participants enjoy optional box lunches and an after-tournament party featuring live music and food. The Golf Classic is one of the Homewood Chamber's largest fundraising events with proceeds funding Chamber programs and the Excellence in Education scholarships.
